Wish I'd read this book thirty years ago!

There are some bits of knowledge that one wishes they knew many decades earlier. This is the type of book that should actually be required reading in high school and college Economic classes.

This book is outlined so well from start to finish. It literally lays out a very precise plan for one to follow. I like that the author included several links if the reader wishes to learn much more about various subjects. (From investing to which field of work one should pursue).

It's never to late to start down the path of changing one's fiscal habits to better your life. Perhaps you're like me.. and didn't grow up with a father to teach you the basics of economics. And, a single mother who couldn't.. because she was just as clueless about how to make your money work for you. This book will teach you much about money that just isn't as readily known around the world.

Complete Resource Guide for Wealth Creation

This has to be one of the most comprehensive books I have read on making money. Not full of fluff and hype! Rather, this book gives you not only references to factual wisdoms about making money, as well as practical steps to implement. The author also breaks it down step by step for the reader so that they know how to think, how to produce a high income business or career, how and where to invest, the truths of universal laws, as well as traditional Jewish methods of wealth creation.

Not just for the religious, and certainly not just for the Jewish, this book gives anyone a shot at the wealth that is out there to be had. Like most books, it is easier read than applied, but the resources and "Take Action" section make it easier to apply. All that is needed at this point is to follow through.

I highly recommend this book to those with an open mind and a willingness to learn what it takes to create wealth. If you are someone who takes action and implement what you learn, this book is definitely worth your time and consideration.

In recent years, the popularity of "think your way to wealth" have skyrocketed. I've read many of these books, including, The Law of Attraction and The Secret, but I find these books have no tangible results. A lot of my friends have read them, with no results at all. The Money Code actually tells you how to get wealthy with practical steps and tangible results. Many books on wealth are 200-400 pages, when they should only be about 50-100 pages. Many of these books, repeat information, and are long-winded just to fill up space. The Money Code gives you the most practical information and tells you what to do with, in about 50 pages.

For the record, I am not Jewish, but a lot of the information in this book makes sense and is applicable in everyday life. I've seen some tangible results myself. Highly recommended!

What you must know before purchasing this series:
You are getting two very well conceived and executed intertwining stories. The characters are quite real with intriguing nuances and true to themselves always- despite what the reader might want. I found each and every hero/heroin endearing in their own way though as with the narrator (which changes between books) you may find yourself changing allegiances as there are some great twists. Nothing is lacking here.
These are ZA books 280-285 (approx.) for me, so it is fair to say that I have read a lot of trash and a lot of triumph. It says something that I give this series an overall 5 stars, place it amongst the top 5 available series and am bothering to leave a review at all.
I am writing this for the consumer as the author is clearly a pro, and after all, I myself now have to find another book/series to read :-(

PS There is so much more to be said for this series and because of this, I will perhaps revisit to add more content later as I am not know to wax-on about any, one particular product though I could go on for days in say a book club. Enjoy!

I am so glad that I got this set! Lots of action, EXCELLENT CHARACTERS that you root for till the end.

I got this set after passing it up many times. I love "Walking Dead" but couldn't bring myself to start a zombie series. I am so glad that I got this set! Lots of action, EXCELLENT CHARACTERS that you root for till the end. This contains 5 books. The first two are a great foundation from the very beginning of the zombie outbreak. I like the deviations from typical zombie movies, like how this is localized and not worldwide. The 2nd 3 books start over with new characters, (that I think I might even like more than the originals) with the characters from the 1st two books colliding now 10 years into the outbreak. Very cleverly done. This series ends well, with no cliffhangers, which is how I like to end my books/series.

Too much time is spent setting up characters and motivations without significant forward movement in the plot. The denouement feels like an extended epilogue. An intriguing premise and the well-developed protagonists are this novel's strengths, though Lira doesn't take an active part in the events around her. She seems content to constantly wait, and the pacing suffers for it. Also, the many repetitive scenes add nothing new to drive the story forward. This title will find its audience, but the lack of balanced structure and action makes it less gripping than most sci-fi works. The Unquiet

“There may be two versions of everything, but only one can stay. Only one reflection is real.”

This was an interesting of a YA sci-fi story, with a bit of a sad ending.

Lirael had a rough life in this story, not only was she thrust into a life that she didn’t want, but she was forced to kill, and forced to act like it didn’t bother her. Even having friends put her in a difficult position, to the point where being alone was her only defence.

“By the time they realise that our sleeper program is in effect, that we are coming to take over their world, it will be too late.”

The storyline in this was split into three; Lirael’s time at the cottage, her time as a sleeper, and the time when things changed. The story really was quite different between these three sections, and showed three very different times in Lirael’s life.
There was a little bit of romance in this, but only a very little bit.

“Close your eyes and pretend you’re somewhere else, okay?”

The ending to this was really sad, and I actually found myself crying. I found the pace of the story to be quite slow, but the emotional ending made up for it a bit, although I really wish things could have been different for Lirael.

Loved the concept, but the story was just okay.

The Unquiet is one of those books that has a really interesting concept, but I felt like it wasn’t really executed well. I loved the idea of the book. The idea of every person having a double and that double training to take over the other’s life, but it just life me bored and sometimes confused.

Part of the reason I didn’t like this book is the main character. I just didn’t really connect with or like her, at all. She is trained to be the exact copy of the other Lirael. She is trained to assassinate the other Lirael and take her place. I found her to be really flat. She is training to be this other person, so I felt like we didn’t get enough of who she actually was.

I found the concept interesting, but really complicated. Sometimes it felt like I was reading a few different stories at the same time. Overall, I appreciated the concept, but didn’t really like the story as a whole.

A story to slowly sink into

Lirael was taken as a child to be trained to eventually kill and replace her duplicate on a different Earth. The Sleepers are intent on being the ones not to disappear from the Earths, and she is one of the soldiers in their plan. But when Lira arrives at her new home, she will discover that not everything is what it seems, and sometimes being the perfect solider doesn’t equate to real happiness.

THE UNQUIET has one of the most unique premises and protagonists that I’ve ever read. I love how the author creates the idea of two parallel Earths and the consequences that might happen when you have two of everything. Lira is one of my favorite protagonists, and she has phenomenal development. She’s a dark character, often cold, and there’s a seriousness to her that shows a quiet ferocity. She doesn’t know how to connect with people well because of the environment she was trained in, yet even she can’t help a few people carving a place for themselves in her heart.

Though the romance is a minor part of the story, I couldn’t help falling head over heels for it. It’s slow, sometimes sad, but very powerful and sincere. I hoped for the best for them every step of the way. Their relationship, even before it becomes romantic, is kind of about choosing your own family when you have none of your own or when your family isn’t really a family.

The action can be a little slow at times, but it’s well worth it. Every plot point is intricately built up, laying all the necessary steps before the next big action. By the time readers get to the end, they are sure to have a book hangover they won’t forget.

Mikaela Everett tells a magnificent story of emotion, strength, and internal battles in THE UNQUIET. This is a story to sink into slowly and to leave with a new but not uncomfortable heaviness of having read a really good and deep novel.

The kinetics and equilibria relevant to engineered systems (e.g., chlorination and disinfection chemistry, sorption and surface chemistry) and organic contaminant chemistry are also discussed. Numerous in-chapter examples that show the application of theory and demonstrate how problems are solved using algebraic, graphical, and computer-based techniques are included. Examples are relevant to both natural waters and engineered systems.

About the Author

Patrick L. Brezonik is Professor Emeritus of Civil Engineering at the University of Minnesota. His research interests are focused on natural aquatic systems, including nutrient cycling and chemistry, metal complexation by natural organic matter, and applications of remote sensing to aquatic systems.

William A. Arnold is the Joseph T. and Rose S. Ling Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Minnesota. His research interests are in the areas of transformation, transport, and remediation of anthropogenic chemicals in the environment, including surface-mediated oxidation/reduction reaction, photochemistry, and partitioning.

GREAT REFERENCE AND TEXT

I have taken a number of water chemistry classes during my undergraduate and graduate education. This water chemistry book is best I have used. I have used the Benjamin and the Snoeyink for courses also. This new text is very well written and had numerous worked examples and is written with a stronger background in chemistry. It is written more in the style and background of a chemist and not an engineer. This really allows for a clear explanation and understanding of the material. I constantly find myself coming back to this particular text when I need to do any kind of chemical numerical modeling. It is a great reference to have. It also covers a much broader amount of topics compared to the other industry standard texts. This book is great for someone who needs an all in one general chemistry reference. I would also recommend pairing with the Benjamin if you don't mind purchasing two books as that is a more concise text with other great examples on the most basic concepts of the field.

Norm Wright's handbook for pre-engaged couples is one of the best ways to help a couple prepare for marriage. I've found that the longer I've been married, the more I appreciate all the different topics these 12-14 chapters cover. I use it for pre-marriage counseling and have found that this book is a great discussion starter.
