Aldo Petosa is the project leader of antenna design and development in the Advanced Antenna Technology Lab at the Communications Research Centre Canada. He earned his Ph.D in electrical engineering from Carleton University in Ottawa.

Are you a beginner in the field of frequency-agile antennas (FAAs)? If you are, then this book is for you. Author Aldo Petosa, has done an outstanding job of writing a book that provides the reader with a sense of the capabilities of FAAs, the widely diverse methods for achieving tunability, the current achievable performance, and the challenges still facing FAA designs.

Author Petosa, begins by defining the various parameters that are used to quantify the performance of FAAs. Next, the author presents an overview of the most common antenna elements suitable for FAAs for wireless communication applications. Then, he examines the various tuning methods being considered for FAAs. He continues by examining the FAAs based on the mechanical actuation. The author then looks at the FAAs that incorporate tunable substrates. Next, he covers the use of electronic devices for achieving FAA designs with continuous frequency tuning. Finally, the author reviews the FAAs that are designed for discrete frequency tuning.

This most excellent book explores the many aspects of FAAs, including the metrics that are used to evaluate their performance, the most commonly used antenna elements, the wide variety of mechanisms for achieving tenability, and a comprehensive survey of diverse examples of FAA designs. Furthermore, many of the FAAs surveyed in this terrific book were designed to operate in one or more of the services that were covered.

Jonathan Edwards was a preacher, theologian, and missionary to Native Americans. Edwards "is widely acknowledged to be America's most important and original philosophical theologian," and one of America's greatest intellectuals. Edwards's theological work is very broad in scope, but he is often associated with his defense of Reformed theology, the metaphysics of theological determinism, and the Puritan heritage. Recent studies have emphasized how thoroughly Edwards grounded his life's work on conceptions of beauty, harmony, and ethical fittingness, and how central The Enlightenment was to his mindset.
Edwards played a very critical role in shaping the First Great Awakening, and oversaw some of the first fires of revival in 1733–1735 at his church - First Church - in Northampton, Massachusetts. Edwards delivered the sermon "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God", a classic of early American literature, during another wave of revival in 1741, following George Whitefield's tour of the Thirteen Colonies. Edwards is widely known for his many books: The End For Which God Created the World; The Life of David Brainerd, which served to inspire thousands of missionaries throughout the nineteenth century; and Religious Affections, which many Reformed Evangelicals read even today. Edwards died from a smallpox inoculation shortly after beginning the presidency at the College of New Jersey (later to be named Princeton University). Great love story of Darcy and Lizzy

I loved this story and I also did not find this book hard to read. The author is a great story teller and is kind enough to first share her talent free on a fan site. The book is worth the price.

Truly an enjoyable read

I really enjoyed the story. I was guessing until the end about who was behind all the trouble for Lizzy and Darcy. It was well written, and I have to say that I was sad when I came to the last page and it ended. It was a nice wrap up to the story, but I wanted more. I hope she will write more and continue the story. I enjoyed the other two books she as written. Love's Fool is still my favorite of the 3 books, but I love this story too. It captured my imagination and I felt like I was there moving about with the characters. Truly an enjoyable read.

About the Author
Catherine Kohler Riessman is Research Professor in the Department of Sociology at Boston College, and an Emerita Professor at Boston University. She serves as a Visiting Fellow in the Centre for Narrative Research, University of East London. She earned a Ph.D. in Sociomedical Science from Columbia University. Riessman has authored four books and numerous articles and book chapters in medical sociology and qualitative methodologies.

This is probably by far one of the best reads I've done about doing narrative research

This is probably by far one of the best reads I've done about doing narrative research. Riessman covers a lot of territory, from getting started to writing up and presenting your work. I'm so glad I came across this book because there really isn't a uniform approach to doing narrative research. Riessman analyzes a number of exemplars in describing the ways in which scholars have used narrative in an array of studies. She won't give you a step-by-step approach, but the examples she takes up in this will help you to think about formulating an approach appropriate to your own research needs. I really appreciate the questions she poses along the way in discussing others' choices in their studies. It really is a good book.
